WMRA WORLD MOUNTAIN RUNNING TROPHY

The annual World Mountain Running Cup was introduced in 1985 by the World Mountain Running Association (formerly the International Mountain Running Congress) and renamed the World Mountain Running Trophy in 1993. Separate short (up and downhill) and long (uphill only) course races were held for senior men until 1992. Since that date the men's event has alternated between an uphill only race in even years and an up and downhill race in odd years. Team scores are calculated by aggregating the positions of the first 3 finishers from a maximum of 4 competitors, except for the men's event where positions of the first 4 finishers from a maximum of 6 competitors have counted since 1993 and junior women's event where positions of the first 2 finishers from a maximum of 3 competitors count. For full results of previous championship see the WMRA website.

An unofficial European Mountain Running Trophy was first held in 1994 and given official sanction by the WMRA in 1995. With EAA recognition the event was retitled the European Mountain Running Championships in 2002. Team scores are calculated by aggregating the positions of the first 3 finishers from a maximum of 4 competitors except for the women's event from 1994-97 when the first 2 finishers from a maximum of 3 competitors counted.

Venues: 1994U Quantin (ITA), 1995 Valleraugue (FRA), 1996 Llanberis (WAL), 1997 Ebensee (AUT), 1998 Sestriere (ITA), 1999 Bad Kleinkirchheim (AUT), 2000 Miedzygorze (POL), 2001 Cerklje (SLO), 2002 Camara de Lobos (POR), 2003 Trento (ITA), 2004 Korbielow (POL), 2005 Heiligenblut (AUT), 2006 Malé Svatonovice (CZE)
