The European 10000 Metres Challenge was introduced in 1997 following the events removal from the European Cup programme. It was renamed the European 10000 Metres Cup in 2005. The team ranking is calculated by aggregating the times of each teams fastest three athletes.

The European Winter Throwing Challenge was first held in 2001 and renamed the European Winter Throwing Cup from 2005. The team ranking is calculated by converting each athletes best mark into points and totalling the scores of 2 athletes in each of the 4 events. Countries not wishing to field 2 athletes in each event are able to enter athletes as individuals.

The men's event was first held in 1975 and women's in 1981. Due to large number of nations entering teams a divisional format was introduced in 1988 for men and 1995 for women. Each club enters 1 athlete per individual event, except in the men's cups of 1975 & 1977-82 when 2 athletes were entered per individual event. This section lists first three clubs in "A" finals.
